About THBN
Evidence-Driven Advisory. Mission-Aligned Results.
The Thuban Collaborative is a team of advisors specializing in fiscal impact analysis, program sustainability planning, and strategic finance for governments, nonprofits, and microenterprises.
Why We Exist
Our Mission
THBN exists to close the gap between organizational intent and measurable outcomes. Too many public-sector agencies and nonprofit organizations operate with strong missions but insufficient analytical infrastructure — making decisions based on intuition rather than evidence, and reporting impact in anecdotes rather than data.
We bring the discipline of performance management, the rigor of fiscal analysis, and the clarity of modern data tools to organizations that serve vulnerable populations. Our work is grounded in the belief that better decisions — backed by better data — lead to better outcomes for the communities these organizations exist to serve.
How We Work
Our Approach
Every THBN engagement is structured around four principles that guide how we work with clients.
Evidence First
We start with data — operational, financial, and programmatic — before recommending any course of action. Decisions grounded in evidence are more defensible, more durable, and more likely to produce the outcomes organizations need.
Systems Thinking
Organizational challenges rarely exist in isolation. We map the full system — workflows, incentives, data flows, financial structures — before intervening, so our recommendations address root causes rather than symptoms.
Capacity Building
We don't just deliver reports. We build internal capability — training staff, designing dashboards, and creating systems that organizations can own and operate long after our engagement ends.
Mission Alignment
Every recommendation we make is evaluated against the organization's core mission. Efficiency gains that undermine service quality are not improvements. We optimize for outcomes, not just outputs.
